We offer a wide array of human services designed to meet the needs of vulnerable children, families and adults, including residential and therapeutic foster care programs for children and youth, Kinship support, homeless and community-based services for adults and families, a special education elementary school for ages 5-13, and so much more. Position Overview: The Overnight Resident Assistant (RA) assists families in service plan implementation by obtaining and providing feedback regarding their progress toward service plan goals. The RA performs overnight tasks necessary for maintaining the physical appearance and overall cleanliness of the property and buildings. Responsible to provide continued respect, support, and care, and a family atmosphere for clients of the facility and fellow staff members. Strives to ensure a safe, secure, healthy, clean and positive environment for client families as they make their transition from homelessness through after-care. Position Requirements:

Ability to work the shift of: Monday-Friday, 12am – 8am

High School diploma / GED Equivalent, required

Certain deadlines and unanticipated developments may require flexibility to work during weekends and/or holidays.

A current Clean and Valid New York StateDriver’s License (actively licensed at least one year) is required.

Staff in driving positions must be able to meet agency’s minimum requirements of our insurance policy for authorized drivers; including, but not limited to the minimum age of 21 at time of hire.

Familiarity with multi-line telecommunication systems.

Proficiency in computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Google Business Workspace Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Meet, Sheets, etc.), and use secure Internet practices.

A kind, warm and caring mindset; Capable of exhibiting empathy for those in need.

Capacity and openness to work with populations from culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including but not limited to a broad range of people with various developmental and functional levels.

Qualities of positivity, flexibility and adaptability; A professional record of integrity, proven reliability and dependability.

Capable of exercising ethical, independent judgment and discretion, handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality.

Ability to pass pre-employment background check requirements, including fingerprinting.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

General custodial, cleaning/care of floors, windows, walls and other areas as assigned; Seasonal yard/courtyard clean up; snow removal and shoveling.

Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.

Establish and maintain professional working relationships with residents and other staff, keeping appropriate personal boundaries, in accordance with all agency procedures, policies, and practices.

Ensure a safe, secure, healthy and clean environment; making property rounds, both interior and exterior, reporting any situations.

Document interactions with families using critical incident reports, intake information forms, progress note section of case files, log, etc.

Respect the rights of others and protect all confidential information.

Intervene in crisis situations and assist with conflict resolution as needed.

Participate in regular professional development programming, and monthly staff meetings.

Clearly communicate any concerns and suggestions to supervisor and/or director.

Actively contribute to the maintenance of a “client supportive” and respectful community.

Manage reception desk and telephone as overnight reception is needed.

Other position-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
