JOB TITLE: Enterprise Architect POSITION: Contract (12 Months) LOCATION: Albany NY - ( Local Candidates - Hybrid work is required) Job Description Client is going through a large-scale modernization of many of its core application systems. These applications and data are being consolidated and hosted as one application system to the Microsoft Azure cloud. The modernization effort and associated software delivery will occur incrementally. The OnBoard program roadmap will consist of multiple, discrete projects leading to the final, To-Be Client enterprise-wide software solution hosted on Azure, resulting in the sunsetting of all legacy systems. Client requires the assistance of a highly skilled solution design architect that will provide expert leadership and guidance during all phases of the OnBoard program, including (but not limited to) participation in requirements elicitation, application design and development including product/software decisions and integrations with both existing on-premises and cloud environments. Responsibilities include execution of Information Technology (IT) policies and standards, IT project management and supporting tools, defining, and maintaining Clients OnBoard Solution Architecture, and implementation of common IT services and applications, and project and source code software repository management. Alignment of Agency's OnBoard Solution Architecture with CTO Enterprise Architecture and product investment strategy and what ITS Business Solutions Director and WCB can support. Alignment of CISO policies and best practices. Current state application modeling and system inventory management utilizing Agency's standard EA tools including a familiarity of The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF). Ongoing definition and execution of WCB SDLC including IT policies processes and standards. Architectural and technical oversight engagements with application development teams. Continued implementation and process improvements in the automated build and testing environment including definition and use of application quality metrics. Software administration of source code repositories, change management tools, and automated build and testing software including research of alternative solutions, system upgrades, data migration, related process development and customer support. Build upon the high-level design of the system that is based on a standard multi-tier application architecture. The multi-tier architecture allows for the logical and physical separation of concerns. The architecture should be designed to be scalable and portable to other cloud vendors Intimately involved in the business requirements breakdown and envisioning for the overall solutioning and architecture Duties and activities will be tightly coupled with business side involvement with every project within the program. Required Qualifications The candidate shall possess the following experience: A minimum of six (6) years of experience in a technical lead/architect role integrating and leveraging cloud and on-premise data center application environments. Total of ten (10) years of relevant technical experience. That experience must include work similar in scope to that outlined in the Scope of Services section. A minimum of five (5) years of experience on enterprise modernization projects, that included replacing internal legacy systems with a web-based system that would be directly accessed by external and internal users/stakeholders. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in each of the following areas: solution assessment, transition and sequence planning, security planning, system integration, information architecture, and business process engineering to build or re-architect an enterprise-level solution. Preferred Credentials/Certifications
