The Lead Teacher in each age group is responsible for implementing a developmentally appropriate program following the curriculum provided. The Lead Teacher is committed to the mission of Kids First Childcare Center. The Lead Teacher is accountable for general supervision of children and staff in the classroom and maintaining a Christian atmosphere. The Lead Teacher reports to the Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare the daily activities for the classroom.
Maintain progress records for each child both educationally and developmentally
Maintain open communication with each family in their classroom as well as any staff working in the classroom
Maintain a safe environment for all participants in classroom
Attend all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
Report to Director any needs, concerns in a timely manner
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 40 lbs.
Repetitive bending, stretching or stooping.
Climb up and down stairs.
Be mobile to ensure safety of children.
Work with children on the floor
Work outside in all weather.
Assist children with diapering/toileting needs.
Perform light cleaning.
Educational Requirements:
Associates Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field
CDA (Child Development Associates) credential
9 College credits in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field with Plan of study leading to an Associate’s Degree or CDA
2 years’ experience related to caring for children.
