No framing experience? That’s okay! We’re happy to train the right individuals who bring strong communication, a solid work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in growing with us long-term.
Position 1: Matting and Fitting Specialist
This role is ideal for someone who loves working with their hands, has an eye for detail, and takes pride in transforming raw materials into beautifully crafted presentations of artwork.
Key responsibilities include:
Collaborating on the creative presentation of artwork by selecting and hand cutting mats that enhance the piece.
Handling and fitting various types of art into custom frames with precision and care.
Creating handmade fabric mounts and stretching canvases.
Experimenting with hot and cold mounting techniques to preserve artwork.
Problem-solving to fit and mount a wide variety of artwork—we frame just about anything.
Packing and preparing finished works for shipping and delivery to clients.
Managing mat room workflow, maintaining inventory, and keeping a clean, organized work space.
Position 2: Woodworking and Custom Frame Production
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, likes using power tools, isn’t afraid to get a little dusty, and takes pride in turning raw wood into beautifully crafted custom frames.
Key tasks include:
Crafting custom wood frames from start to finish, ensuring each piece complements the artwork it will hold.
Learning and perfecting woodworking techniques such as measuring, milling, chopping, joining, and sanding frames.
Safely using tools like table saws, routers, and miter saws to create intricate frame designs.
Shaping wood from 2D renderings, turning concepts into reality.
Contributing to the artistic process by understanding and executing custom frame designs.
Maintaining a clean, organized workspace, keeping tools in top condition, and ensuring inventory is up to date.
