Whenever possible flowers and hardgoods are sourced locally. We are a highly collaborative group, aiming to guide our customers to exactly what will suit their needs. Each team member is expected to understand all facets of the operations and provide assistance wherever it is needed.

The main function of our sales associate is to facilitate amazing customer interactions. This position requires a warm, comforting, and outgoing attitude. The intent is to create loyal customers, and this starts from the moment they make contact with us. The sales associate’s first priority is to receive phone calls and emails and help guide our customers to achieve their floral needs. This role needs to have intimate understanding of the flow of business from helping customers order their desired arrangement, to understanding the products that comprise those arrangements. The sales associate is in close communication with the management, designers, and delivery drivers to determine capacity of each day and maximize revenue. While customer service is the focal point of this role, the sales associate is also expected to aid in maintaining the integrity and appearance of the shop and the inventory. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, organizing the stock of goods and supplies, cleaning the retail area and production space in the shop, helping with refuse and recycled materials, processing and maintaining flowers.

Functions of the position:

1. Customer Interaction:

Greet customers warmly and provide a welcoming atmosphere.

Assist customers in selecting appropriate flower arrangements, bouquets, and other floral products.

Offer expert advice on flower choices, colors, and arrangements based on customers' preferences and occasions.

Answer customer inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email, providing accurate information about products, pricing, and delivery options.

2. Order Management:

Process customer orders, ensuring accuracy in product selection, quantities, and delivery details.

Input orders into the POS (Point of Sale) system and handle payment transactions efficiently.

Coordinate with the floral design team to fulfill custom orders and special requests.

Track order status and provide updates to customers on delivery timelines as needed

Pull and reserve inventory for custom orders, special orders, and other orders as needed

3. Floral Knowledge and Arrangements:

Maintain a deep understanding of different flower types, their seasonal availability, and care instructions.

Create and assemble floral arrangements and wrapped bouquets according to established guidelines and customer requests.

Ensure that all arrangements are well-presented, fresh, and visually appealing.

4. Visual Merchandising:

Assist in maintaining the shop's aesthetic appeal by arranging displays, keeping shelves clean and organized, and updating signage.

Regularly refresh displays and showcase new arrivals to attract customer attention.

5. Customer Feedback and Issue Resolution:

Gather feedback from customers to gauge their satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

Address customer concerns, complaints, or issues promptly and professionally, aiming for effective resolution.

6. Inventory Management:

Monitor inventory levels of flowers, vases, and other floral accessories.

Assist in placing orders for new inventory and restocking supplies as needed.

Monitor inventory condition replace fresh water and flower preservative as needed, and dispose of unusable products

7. Administrative Tasks:

Maintain accurate records of sales, orders, funeral home notes, gift certificates, customer credits, holiday/seasonal notes, orders on hold, donations, and customer interactions.

Generate and process invoices, receipts, and related paperwork.

Assist in keeping the shop's schedule organized and appointments well-managed.

Manage house accounts and bill customers monthly

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in floristry or customer service is a plus.

Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a retail or flower shop environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

Passion for flowers and a basic understanding of floral arrangements.

Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in using POS systems, email, Microsoft office, Google workspace, and basic computer applications.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry floral arrangements, and perform tasks related to floral preparation.

Must be able to lift at least thirty pounds

Working Conditions:

The role involves working in a floral shop environment, which may include exposure to certain degrees of temperature and moisture, various scents, pollen, and physical activities related to floral preparation. Candidates must be able to lift 50lbs and will be expected to be on their feet for most of the shift. The position may require flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, especially during peak floral seasons and special occasions.

All persons hired will be subject to a 30-day evaluation period, at which point they will be assessed for job performance. Constructive evaluation will be provided. If, at that point, it is determined by either party that the employee is not the right fit, an amicable parting will commence.
