What You Will DoPrototype Fabrication (PF) Division is seeking CNC Programmers to provide computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering support for the machining of components vital to the Lab's mission.The selected candidate will provide professional CNC programming support through the development of machining processes, tool paths, fixture design, cutting tool selection and process verification utilizing various software. You will work closely with journey-person machinists, designers, and engineers. Advanced knowledge of CNC programming techniques for complex part geometries. Advanced knowledge of manual and CNC machining principles, including fixturing, tooling and machine operation.

Demonstrated experience of Siemens NX, PTC Creo or Catia CAD/CAM software.

Demonstrated experience with Vericut simulation software.

Demonstrated experience with Product Lifecycle Management Software (PLM).

Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ASME Y14.5 standard.

Demonstrated experience with the manufacture of products that meet the technical and quality standards set forth on the product definition.

Communication and Teamwork

Strong written and verbal communication skills required to communicate with colleagues, management, and customers.

Demonstrated record of dependability, reliability, and commitment to the long-term needs of the job duties and programmatic goals of the organization.

In addition to the skills listed above, Level 3 candidates must also meet the following requirements:

Advanced knowledge of Siemens NX, PTC Creo or Catia CAD/CAM software.

Education/Experience (Level 2):Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Science, Math or related degree from an accredited institution AND 2 years related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Education/Experience (Level 3):Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Science, Math or related degree from an accredited institution AND 5 years related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Desired Qualifications:

Experience with creating and modifying CNC post processors.

Experience with multi-axis CNC programming for Haas, Okuma, Mazak, Hurco, Mitsubishi, Sodick, Charmilles mills, lathes, grinders, and wire EDM.

Work Environment:Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM.
