Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with terrific organizational skills to take up a long-term contract / temporary to hire position at a growing company. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed Requirements - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Command of Accounts Payable (AP)
Proven knowledge of QuickBooks
General Ledger System experience preferred
General ledger experience
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
Strong familiarity with bank reconciliations
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
ERP system experience
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
