Job Description
- Carry out valve refurbishments & overhauls or related work as requested in line with the QMS, customer requirements and given priorities.
- Adhere to all safe working practices, look after yourself and those around you.
- Document all work done on the appropriate worksheets and complete a timesheet on a daily basis.
- Understand and adhere to the QMS. Communicate any breaches of the system to a supervisor or manager.
- Actively seek opportunities to expand your valve repair knowledge base.
- Take an active part in any training opportunity and provide training to staff as reasonably requested.
- Utilise resources efficiently and maintain a high level of house-keeping.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and make appropriate recommendations for improvement to our operational and quality systems.
- Continuous seek the most efficient way to carry out job responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Trade Certified in a mechanical discipline.
- Computer literacy – Above average computer skills, particularly in Excel.
- Teamwork – Ability to work effectively and productively with others.
- Initiative – Ability to initiate action without being prompted to do so.
- Communication – Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written) with fluency in English. and interpersonal skills.
- Safety Conscious – Proactively consider safety requirements when completing all tasks.
- Personal Motivation – Being proactive in the completion of all tasks without constant supervision, including apprenticeship assignments.
- Mechanically Minded – Demonstrates an aptitude towards mechanical based work.
- Physically Capable – Ability to complete the physical demands of the role e.g. lifting, moving valves, working at heights, walking distances etc.
- A current, clean New Zealand drivers licence, that is commensurate with your age.
