The project is led by and for New Mexicans, and is funded by The Carter Center, a nonpartisan nonprofit organization with worldwide expertise in impartial election observation. County Coordinators are neutral watchers at polling sites during in-person early voting (starting 10/8/24) and on Election Day (11/5/24).

County Coordinators identify and support the Election Observers in their county and are responsible for ensuring that Election Observers attend trainings and receive needed project materials. This position will be part-time and will operate on a fixed fee contract. Coordinators must be registered to vote in the county in which they propose to work.

County Coordinator Stipend Breakdown:

Contract for Recruitment: $2,000

Poll Worker Training Observation: $200

Logic &Accuracy Observation: $200

Early Voting Training: $100

Early Voting Observation: $200

Election Day Observer Training: $100

Election Day Observation: $200

Tabulation Observation: $200

Certification Observation (County Canvass): $200
