Junior Software Engineer
Job Description
Skills and Abilities:
Good understanding of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. An emphasis in physics and/or aerodynamics is desirable.
Software development knowledge with:
C, C, Linux, Windows, Microsoft Development Suite, Python, .NET, Embedded Systems, Object Oriented Design, Agile Methodologies

Competencies:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Engineering/Software Engineering, or 5 years of experience or equivalent desired.
Responsibilities:
Interface with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering staff on new and existing designs
Troubleshoot and resolving customer-level technical problems
Participate in design reviews with engineering and management
Research, design, develop, and test systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for aviation trainers and training components, gun active recoil devices, and dynamic motion seats
Demonstrate a strong understanding of electro-mechanical controls and/or robotics.
Use scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
Confer with project managers to obtain information on limitations and capabilities for data processing projects
Perform simulator maintenance engineering and simulator engineering design.
Develop specifications and performance requirements and assisting with proposal preparation
Coordinate software system installation
Consult with mechanical engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software
Applying company’s configuration management procedures and processes
Participating in configuration control board meetings as required
Other duties as assigned
Authorities:
Responsibility for the QMS (conformance to the standard, maintenance, reporting, performance, and control during changes)
