POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for providing safe, timely and cost-effective repairs to machinery. This position will be completing scheduled/unscheduled facilities & maintenance repairs, which will support efficient plant operations, minimizes production down time, and ensures that products are manufactured in a safe and cost-effective environment. There is an opportunity for this contract position to become permanent employment. You must pass drug testing and a background investigation if offered the position.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Ability to perform all tasks described on the Maintenance Technician training matrix for a level one technician.
Troubleshoot & remedy problems with facilities equipment and controls systems.
Respond to any maintenance and facilities emergency that occurs on the off shifts and make necessary corrections.
Perform preventative maintenance to equipment to assure efficient and long-term trouble-free operation.
Support with external contractors to ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
Prioritize work orders based on business needs and site priorities.
Perform facilitates troubleshooting and repairs as required.
Troubleshoot controls systems for electrical and mechanical needs.
Perform other duties as required.
Procedures are well established. Few decisions made. Supervisor readily available as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
HS Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of (2) years of experience or associate degree with (1) years’ experience required.
Experience must be in a manufacturing environment in the areas of facility maintenance and repair, equipment installation.
Proficient use of electrical and mechanical hand and tools required.
Requires ability to lift 60 lbs., climb ladders and work at heights 10-20 feet above plant floor.
Trade experience preferred.
Ability to become versed in all trades.
Strong communication skills required.
Flexibility to daily roles required.
On call weekend rotation, typically once a month,, and flexibility with team required.
Strong facilities troubleshooting and repair skills required.
WORKING LOCATION:
This position is 100% onsite, based in Belen.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Frequently: Standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, reaching/working overhead, climbing, pushing/pulling/lifting up to 60 lbs. loud noises, vibration, extreme temperatures, allergens: dust, mold and/or pollen. (Position requires this activity 34% to 66% of the time),
Occasionally: Sitting, crouching, crawling, keyboard use/repetitive hand motion, carrying (up to 60 pounds), chemicals and fumes, confined spaces (position requires this activity up to 33% of the time).
Continuously: Hand motion fine grasping, hand motion gross grasping (position requires this activity 67% to 100% of the time).
