About you: You are an older retired person, looking for additional work, OR a college or tech student in healthcare, social services or a writer/poet. You really can be anybody looking for a job. This is a Medicaid Funded position so background checks are needed. You are up to date on Covid boosters and wear a mask when case counts are high. You don't smoke tobacco or canabis (even Medical, it is a safety issue for both of us), you don't drink to excess and you care about being productive and you do not bring Tik Tok into my home or watch any form of social media unless work related except on breaks. You like music and you like to laugh a lot. You can be male, female or non-bianary, if I feel comfortable with you as a human being, you are in. It helps if you know about Yoga and Ayuvedic, and can tolerate tarot decks and astrology. Warning: The Hiring Packet is brutal. No caregiving experience? I will train you.
About me: I woman who is a working person who is getting better. I am a below knee amputee and stroke survivor healing L. hemiparesis. I am a healthcare/rehabilitation professional working by telehealth. The pay sucks! I can add extra value by teaching you plant based cooking, activism education (disability, health equity, food equity). This job is not boring and something new is always happening.
Job Duties: Assist in safe transfers, showering, transport in my vehicle to doctors, PT, OT etc, and some social activities, water indoor and outdoor plants, help potting plants, laundry in my home or laundromat, I am getting a service dog, so help with training, composting with Lomi, possible move to a new home. I am technically savvy but have poor dexterity so be my hands when needed. Load printer paper. Change cartriges and toner. Reset clocks, help me with my mail and take trash/recycling out.
Hours: 8 am to 2 pm with some flexibility to come in earlier or by 9 except days w/ early am appointments. Must be here at 6:20 if I have an 7:30 or 8 am aappointment.
