Prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a credit background check.SUMMARY:Manages all corporate citizenship and philanthropic policies and programs for the company. Aligns, coordinates, and executes all subsidiary corporate citizenship activities to ensure congruency with corporate goals, values, and mission. Manages corporate contributions, corporate citizenship programs, and foundation philanthropic budgets. Coordinates all corporate community involvement programs and initiatives with state and local media efforts, government relations strategy, public policy position statements, and programs. Collaborates with corporate and local strategic partners to leverage relationships and reputation capital to actively position the company as a trusted and valued partner in all markets served.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Plans, manages, and oversees the execution of the corporate citizenship strategy, vision, mission, and goalsCollaborates with other members of Public Policy team to ensure all elements of corporate public policy are integrated, congruent, and effectiveWorks closely with subsidiary community involvement programs to ensure that local programs align with overall corporate citizenship strategyResearches and develops innovative corporate citizenship initiatives to span all subsidiaries and promote, enhance, and empower long and short-term goals, vision, and strategic imperativesCollaborates with corporate communications and marketing to effectively and proactively position the Company as good corporate citizen with various groupsCounsels various groups on community relations and corporate citizenship trends and current developments and communicates the impact of corporate philanthropy and community outreach and other key messages to community stakeholdersServes as Executive Director of the PNM Resources Foundation, which includes the following:Directs the development, planning, staffing, and coordination of all foundation activities and guides the board in the development of the foundation's giving priorities and operationsServes as a liaison to the foundation¿s legal and financial advisors, ensures that the foundation's operations are soundly managed, and assists with management of the foundation's assetsDevelops and implements Foundation strategic plan and budgetReviews policies of the organization and presents to the board any revisions.Based on screening committee recommendations, determine grants to be awarded with input from the foundation staff.Ensures appropriate personnel are assigned to grantee events (i.e., check distribution, award presentations, site visits, etc.)Defines, implements, and communicates the corporate, subsidiary, and foundation contributions strategy, budgets, policies, and proceduresDirects and collaborates with the foundation staff to ensure that the organization's programs are successfully administeredDevelops relationships with national, state, and local agencies, foundations, and other organizations within the multi-state service area and develops community support strategy for community fence-line and business mattersServe as spokesperson for the Company's corporate citizenship vision and actions and develops the corporate citizenship brand throughout the holding company and its subsidiariesActs as a subject matter expert on community-based initiatives, key philanthropic issues, the nonprofit sector, corporate citizenship, and community partners for various groupsCOMPETENCIES:Knowledge of national foundation trends, foundation law, and best practicesExperience in the development of grant making policy and processes in a corporation or foundationExperience leading or serving on non-profit boardsDemonstrated knowledge of and network of contacts in the corporate and non-profit sectorsDemonstrated ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with key community stakeholders built upon strong community leadership networkDemonstrated commitment to community serviceDemonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plansDemonstrated ability to lead, deliver, and develop corporate citizenship best practices within an organizationAbility to manage multiple, parallel projects using project planning and management methodsAbility to self-manage and deal with ambiguity in the work environmentAbility to communicate corporate citizenship vision with passion and persuasionAbility to be discreet and maintain a high level of confidentialityQUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree with seven to nine years related experience in corporate citizenship, non-profit management, and philanthropy, to include two years of management experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.Master's degree is preferred.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Must possess a current, legally valid driver's license and meet the company's driving record requirements.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervises and trains assigned staff. Organizes, prioritizes, and schedules work assignments. Develops employees and manages performance of the department. Oversees multimillion corporate citizenship budgets. Determines the allocation of work among the staff.SCOPE AND IMPACT:Oversees management of $18 million foundation endowment and the distribution of $1.5 million in foundation in grants annually. Manages the Community Relations Department's annual budget of approximately $600,000. Directs annual distribution of approximately $2 million in corporate contributions.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time. Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required. Manual dexterity is required. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to travel to all company service areas. Ability to maintain high safety standards for yourself and others. Ability to periodically work evenings and weekends.
