This critical position works with the 02332 Manager to lead and manage the ND Systems Electrical Test Team. The Team Lead contributes to defining and pursuing our organization’s strategic and tactical goals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Daily supervision and leadership of an 15-member team of technologists supporting three different nuclear weapon modernization programs.
Oversee the day-to-day laboratory testing activities and have daily involvement with test engineers, technologists, and customers regarding all aspects of testing.
Plan and complete work packages to a defined schedule and budget. Plan and assess short-term and long-term laboratory resource needs.
Work with managers and staff from multiple weapon modernization programs currently including the W80-4, W87-1, and W93.
Develop, document, and enforce lab standards that ensure lab operational activities are performed in a safe, secure, and quality manner which adhere to high levels of engineering difficulty.
Execution of safety and scheduling meetings, assignment and oversight of daily work activities, and analysis & resolution of technical challenges.
Establish training programs and supervise on-the-job training and qualification programs for all technologists on the team.
Assist manager with employee recruitment, performance assessment, and recognition.
Status and reporting of budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant will be required to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM. Some travel may be required for this position.
Salary Range:$133,800 - $227,500Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.Qualifications We Require:
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a relevant STEM field, plus one (1) year of related experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in stated field, plus five (5) years of related experience; OR equivalent experience in lieu of degrees that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform functional/electrical testing on weapon modernization programs .
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with functional/electrical testing operations in a complex lab environment (e.g., nuclear deterrence, satellite, or similar setting).
Active DOE Q clearance (or DOD Top Secret clearance), with ability to obtain and maintain Sigma 15 access, which includes random polygraphs.
Qualifications We Desire:
Training and/or experience in management.
Proven experience in leading, managing, and planning hazardous activities in laboratory and field settings.
Expertise in overseeing and executing complex electrical and functional tests.
Experience leading technical teams to perform tests and deliver data products that adhere to strict quality assurance, performance, cost, and schedule standards.
Demonstrated ability to execute technical tasks under tight deadlines.
Knowledge of weapon hardware, components, and product definition standards.
Experience as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) and Electrical Safety Advisor (ESA).
Proven capability to strategically plan for long-term success and drive continuous improvement.
Ability to cultivate strong collaborative relationships with managers and key partner organizations across the Laboratory, as well as with peer organizations and internal customers.

About Our Team:The Electrical Test Department (02332) at ND Systems conducts electrical and functional testing at the system level to support Sandia's key modernization initiatives in the ND sector. Our team is also tasked with the design, development, and production of system-level development testers utilized for functional testing. We oversee all electrical and functional system-level testing for the W80-4, W87-1, and W93 programs. The department operates multiple laboratories throughout SNL and collaborates closely with the design, environmental testing, and qualification teams involved in major ND modernization efforts.
