ESCHD is looking for a full-time Architectural Assistant for our Albuquerque office.
This person will become part of the team that has helped to make ESCHD a recognized best firm to work for in the industry by providing superior floor plan drawings for our office. This position requires work in the office and cannot be done remotely.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience working as a CAD drafter or similar engineering role. Must have excellent AutoCAD skills and be proficient in basic computer applications such as email, and word processing.
The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Responsibilities:
- Create accurate representation of floor plans in CAD (X-refs) that originate from scale sketches created on paper by making a .jpg scan of the original sketched drawings.
- Import the image scan into a drawing template and trace it with the assigned standard layers.
- Make field measurements for potential remodel projects and input the field work into CAD.
- Upon completion of drawing sets: Floor plan, Site Plan, foundations, details, and framing plans. Submit to the structural engineer for review.
- As corrections arrive from the engineer of the city and state entities, address these markups and return for further review. - Utilize Google Suite applications for email, document creation, and data management
Experience:
- Previous experience in an architectural, CAD, environmental, electrical, or mechanical, preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent computer skills, both in CAD and general knowledge of scale drawings.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in proofreading documents and editing.
- Proficiency in using computer software such as word processing.
- Familiarity with standard office procedures is a plus.
