Summary: UPS is directly responsible for accurately and efficiently receiving and shipping finished goods and supplies for the company.
Responsibilities:
Pack cartons and prepare skids of finished goods for shipping or storage as per departmental procedures.
Read and execute instructions from job tickets and properly document actions, shipping methods and piece count on back of run sheet.
Load and unload trucks using forklift and /or pallet jacket.
Use UPS and Fed-Ex computer systems for labeling and shipping.
Communicate via the telephone to schedule freight pick-ups with approved service providers.
Ability to assist supervisor in finding more cost effective ways to ship products.
Adhering to all company policies, including safety practices.
Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma and/or equivalent experience.
Previous shipping or mailing experience preferred.
Must possess forklift certification or have ability to complete certification through on-the-job training.
Must be able to operate a computer using various Microsoft applications.
Must be able to operate UPS and Fed-Ex computer systems.
Must be able to read, speak and understand English.
Lift loads up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work overtime as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Physical Demands: This position is moderately physically demanding. The employee is primarily standing while performing duties of this position. (Refer to Environmental/ safety analysis for specific physical requirements).
