Dental Arts & Wellness is looking for a part or full time dental assistant for a dental practice in a start-up/growth phase. The ideal candidate is friendly, personable, professional, quality oriented and meticulous with his/her work with a focus on superior patient experience. Must be able to converse with patients in a way that is friendly while still being professional, in order to help patients to feel comfortable and safe to put them at ease. Having a good sense of humor is a huge plus! Must have a positive attitude and ability to work efficiently and calmly in an ever changing and innovating field. As a startup dental office every team member needs to be a team player and help with all aspects of practice operations and growth which may include visiting local businesses, being involved in local community events, fairs, and school events. We would like our dental assistant to be an integral part of our team and value their contributions to our practice. Skills:

Experience welcomed but not required

Excellent communication and people skills

Well-organized and reliable with attention to detail

Registration as dental assistant in the state of New Jersey w/ x-ray certification is preferred but not required if you are in the process and the right candidate (fast learner, eager to grow and willing to work hard to get up to speed)

Knowledge of dental anatomy, dental instruments and sterilization methods preferred

Understanding of health & safety regulations

Good computer skills and quick to learn new technology. Eaglesoft experience a plus!

Responsibilities:

Welcome patients in the dental office

Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort

Setup operatories with necessary instruments, equipment and material for the specific procedure, review procedure and consent forms with patients

Take x-rays as needed

Sterilize instruments according to regulations

Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry

Clean up and setup of operatories

Undertake lab tasks as instructed

Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions

Keep the dental operatories clean and well-stocked

Schedule appointments when needed

Maintain accurate patient records

Cross trained for front desk duties is a plus but not necessary, must be willing to learn and help where needed with answering phones, calling to verify insurance, etc. Must be willing to learn and be trained in front desk duties.

Participate in marketing efforts of the dental practice, knowledge of social media and web design a plus, creativity a plus
