Effectively partners with the SVP of Global Medical and the Medical Leadership Team to design, develop, and deliver impactful internal and external communications plans that support achievement of Medical priorities in line with company imperatives and commercialization objectives.
Provides strategic communications counsel and thought leadership support to the SVP of Global Medical as a trusted advisor and extended LT member including identification of opportunities where the SVP's voice can best elevate the reputation of BMS (speaking engagements, media opportunities and other forums).
Supports the successful evolution of Global Medical's business model by developing and implementing strategic communications that inform colleagues and accelerate performance.
Elevates Global Medical's profile across BMS by spotlighting key value stories that demonstrate impact, tangible contributions and Scientific Leadership on enterprise channels.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and executes integrated multi-channel communications plans that inform and engage stakeholders about Medical's Mission, Strategic Priorities, Impact Agenda, and critical role in successfully executing Commercialization business plans (Medical Evidence Generation; Commercialization Model; Product launches; Scientific Leadership).
Provides dedicated Executive Communications counsel and support to the Head of Global Medical for: Internal Communications - Organization announcements, videos, town hall meetings, speaking engagements, slide development, intranet messages and business briefing reports; External Communications - Videos, speaking engagements, social media content and articles aligned with CLT Thought Leader plans; Pulls through relevant company narrative and key messages.
Identifies, develops, and supports unique storylines, content, and positioning opportunities for Medical leaders in alignment with broader company / commercialization narratives and CLT Thought Leadership plans.
Produces impactful communications (Town hall meetings; organization announcements; videos; slideware; briefing materials; toolkits; web and social media content; articles) that support achievement of Medical business objectives. Ensures tool/channel management, content, tone and style aligns to broader BMS brand strategies.
Provides Executive counsel, guidance and support to Global Medical Leadership Team members in communications cascade and engagement activities as needed.
Manages and curates ongoing creation, maintenance, and oversight of content that serve Global Medical business needs and help achieve business goals and objectives (Medical SharePoint Site; Medical Yammer Group).
Develops and fosters collaborative relationships across corporate, commercial, scientific teams to ensure strategic alignment and drive effective, cohesive, and complementary communications in support of broader BMS company objectives.
Responds to ad hoc requests from Strategy & Operations, Functional Groups, Matrix Partners and Enterprise-wide initiatives as appropriate to support Medical involvement in broader company business activities and programs.
Collaborates with and manages approved external agencies, resources and suppliers contracted to provide unique expertise and or functions to support the execution of Medical activities and drive stakeholder engagement.
Stays abreast of trends, technological advances and best practices in communications across the life sciences industry.
Utilizes business intelligence and analytics to inform communications strategies and boost stakeholder audience engagement.
Degree Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or similar field; MBA and or related advanced degree a plus.Experience Requirements:Minimum 10 years of relevant communications experience; prior experience working in Pharmaceuticals, Bio-Tech and or similar / related Medical Science businesses preferred.Key Competency Requirements:
Demonstrated business acumen and experience in the life sciences, biotech or pharmaceutical industries.
Ability to effectively counsel senior leaders.
Exceptional collaborative and teaming skills; Ability to interact effectively with colleagues and counterparts at all levels of the company, both within the Corporate Affairs team and across the larger matrix.
Advanced written, verbal, editing, and interpersonal skills, including hands-on experience developing business leader communications and materials.
Strong consultative and creativity skills; keen attention to detail.
Ability to pivot and excel in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Self-directed with proven track record meeting tight deadlines and balancing multiple initiatives with competing priorities.
