Your New Role

Leidos has an opportunity for a talented Quality and Production Engineer to fill a permanent role located at the Leidos Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF) in Prestons, NSW. You will be given the opportunity to plan and implement a Quality Management System to align and meet ISO 9001 requirements and specifications for the project.

The role will be Quality Engineering and Production Engineering focussed and report to the Defence Missions Systems Quality Manager who is located in Scoresby, Melbourne. The role will include activities including, but not limited to:

  • Completing audits on Leidos processes;
  • Completing audits on inwards supplies;
  • Completing audits on outwards supplies;
  • Completing Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs);
  • Authoring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); and
  • Compiling supplies acceptance paperwork for offer to Defence.
  • Liaison between MSF (Prestons) and Engineering (Scoresby)
  • Developing production and quality processes with Scoresby site.

Qualifications

About you and What You’ll Bring

The successful candidate will offer experience in development and deployment of quality management plans within the ASDEFCON environment to ensure compliance with Statutory/Regulatory/Legislative/Contract requirements.

You will have a demonstrated understanding of the ISO 9001 Standard, its application in the identification of risk and how it can be applied to improve project outcomes. Experience in the following is highly valued:

  • Defence Acquisition;
  • Qualified Engineering and Production Engineering
  • Experience within and ISO9001:2015 environment
  • Practical and Pragmatic Problem solving
  • An understanding of Lean is desirable
  • Attention to detail;
  • Stakeholder Management;
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Document authoring experience;
  • Self- starter, able to work autonomously, and as part of a closely knit team both on-site at the MSF and remotely with Scoresby engineering office.
  • Experience in applying Quality processes in Defence Acquisition and Support Contracts.
  • Development and review of project deliverable documentation - writing plans to meet Data Item Descriptions (DID) is desirable.
  • Experience in the development of audit plans for 1st and 2nd party audits and conduct other surveillance activities to meet project quality requirements.
  • Experience in analysing and translating processes into effective process documentation (i.e. Procedures, forms, development of standardised work, etc.)
  • Experience in the use of SPC/cPk as part of a Supply Chain Surveillance and Management System
  • Understand the use of Test & Measurement Equipment as part of acceptance and surveillance is desirable.
  • Experience with the delivery of quality products and services through consultation and establishing partnerships with both internal and external customers/suppliers on issues that affect the quality management system, product and/or service quality.
  • Experience with Design, Product and Process FMEA is desirable.
  • Understanding of product lifecycle baselines.
  • Understanding of configuration management as part of document control and product lifecycle baselines.
  • Experience with Lean would be an advantage.
