Higher Education Reporter

The Sydney Morning Herald is seeking a higher education reporter for our Sydney newsroom. This is a rare opportunity to work in our popular education team alongside award-winning journalists and editors.The higher education reporter will be expected to combine breaking news, analysis and feature writing capability at the highest level for our digital and print platforms.Applicants will need to demonstrate expertise reporting on education, and/or deep knowledge of the area. To be considered, applicants must include a brief outline of two fresh story ideas with a portfolio of their three best published stories. This is a full-time rostered position across seven days and will involve some weekend and shift work.Applications will close on March 22.
