Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Client Solutions Lead (sales professional) to visit with prospects at their homes, assess their needs, take measurements, produce estimates, and close on the job leads.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and relationship building with homeowners and commercial building managers.
Experience with gutter and gutter guard installation is a great plus but any track record with residential construction is a significant benefit. We pay a competitive base plus commission.
At Stern Gutters, we welcome quick face-to-face sale appointments. We meet only with those customers who reach out to us directly and want our help, and we listen to the customer's needs. Part of the job will involve asking for referrals, networking, and engaging with prospective customers, but we don’t expect unsolicited sales to be more than 20% of your efforts. We NEVER make aggressive sales closes – we are there to solve the customer’s problem, offer options, and move on to help another customer.
Stern Gutters is a northern New Jersey gutter contractor. We specialize in gutter and gutter guard installation and fascia and soffit repair solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Schedule and / or confirm estimate appointments from the pre-qualified / warm leads list.
- Attends all estimate meetings on time.
- Visit individual owners (face-to-face), connect with them on a personal level, understand their needs and goals, and provide estimates for the gutter solutions (jobs) that address those needs.
- Inspect and assess gutter systems to identify any issues or areas in need of repair or replacement.
- Using company guidelines, develop gutter systems for residential and commercial buildings.
- Communicate effectively with customers to address questions and concerns and provide recommendations as needed.
- Share the estimates with the customer within one business day of the visit.
- Return incoming phone calls in a professional manner within 4 business hours of the call.
Throughout the sales process, explain our company's differentiation in the marketplace (making sure the customer understands what they are paying for and how our solution is a superior product).
- Develop relationships with commercial accounts, including construction companies, roofing contractors, property management companies, and real estate agents, among others. Prepare and execute a prospecting plan to convert these relationships into new leads.
- Organize and / or attend various social functions (e.g., conferences, fairs, etc.) and represent our company to identify new leads.
- Adhere consistently to follow-up discipline on all open estimates: Get to “yes” or “no” on all estimates.
- Revisit every sold job at least once to maintain relationships with customers and crew.
- Collaborate with team members and project managers to coordinate workflow and ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain accurate records of workflow using the company’s CRM.
- Effectively represent the company’s values by demonstrating positive leadership with all customers, vendors, and employees.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a salesperson, with a minimum of 1 year of sales and/or lead generation experience, preferably with in-home sales (do apply if you have pest-control or car salesman experience - we will train you on the gutter solutions)
- Willingness to travel within the local market (30-mile radius of Essex County).
- Extensive knowledge of gutter systems, materials, and installation techniques preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Deadline focused; results driven.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Drive to succeed: Willingness to set aggressive goals and meet or exceed them; interested in professional achievement and further development.
- Serve as a humble representative of the brand with customers and be attentive to their needs and goals.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must have valid work authorization in the United States.
