Duties and Responsibilities
Provides pricing proposals to customers
Present and sell company services to current and potential clients
Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made
Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships
Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-ups
Identify and resolve client concerns
Communicate service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field and
office activity
Follow-up for collection of payment
Communicate with billing in regard to price, job requirements and COD shipments
Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work
schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work
plans, and monthly activities
Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery
schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making
recommendations to management.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional
publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
SKILLS , EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Extensive knowledge of tariffs and transport permit requirements.
Extensive knowledge of truck routing for oversize and heavy hauling.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as transport drawings, operating, maintenance instructions and
procedure manual.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous, and helpful).
Ability to persuade and influence others.
Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
