Associate Attorney – Immigration Law Firm (Bilingual, Spanish-English)

We seek a skilled and driven Bilingual Associate Attorney to join our expanding immigration law practice. This role offers a unique opportunity for growth, as well as varied experience working directly with firm personnel and clients.

The ideal candidate will have strong English writing skills, fluency in both English and Spanish, and excellent interpersonal skills. Additionally, an ideal applicant should have a strong desire to participate in a growing firm and embrace the challenges associated with an ever evolving legal landscape.

Qualifications & Requirements:

-Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required

-Strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages is required. Additional language skills are a plus.

-Strong legal research and writing skills are essential.

-Juris Doctor (JD) degree and eligibility to practice law in New Jersey are required. Admission to both New Jersey and New York is preferred.

-Candidates awaiting bar admission may be considered.

-EOIR certification (authorization to appear before the Executive Office for Immigration Review) is preferred. Candidates without prior certification must be eligible and willing to apply.

-Prior immigration law experience is valued, but not required. Other additional legal experience will be considered.

-Must be available for travel to Immigration Court, USCIS interviews, and other firm-related matters as needed within the NJ and NY region. Candidates with reliable transportation are strongly preferred.

Position Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review legal memoranda.

- Prepare and review motions to the Immigration Court.

- Prepare and review applications to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS")

- Prepare clients for appearances before Immigration officers and Immigration Court.

- Appear before the Immigration Court to Represent clients in various hearings.

- Attend various Immigration interviews with clients.

- Prepare and review matters in New Jersey State Court and Family Court.

- Analyze legal research.

- Support paralegal staff members.

- Other various firm and administrative tasks.

Note regarding requirement for in-person/in-office work:

This is an in-person position. Although attorneys may on occasions have the ability to work remotely on matters, the position is not remote. In-person interaction with our clients is crucial in this line of work, as it ensures we can provide the best service possible.
