Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Snow Plow Site Manager to ensure the safe and efficient clearing of snow and deicing of roads, parking lots, and walkways throughout the winter season. This position requires someone who is dependable, proactive, and able to handle the demands of winter weather conditions. The ideal candidate will be on-call 24/7, ensuring all snow removal tasks are completed in a timely manner to maintain safe environments for employees, clients, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee snow plowing operations to ensure roads, parking lots, and walkways are cleared and treated promptly.
- Apply salt to roads and parking lots, and calcium to walkways to ensure proper deicing.
- Supervise snow removal crews and collaborate with team members to ensure all tasks are performed efficiently and safely.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of snow removal activities, including time stamps, materials used, and equipment utilized.
- Be available on call 24/7 during the winter season, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to respond to snow events as needed.
- Operate and maintain company-owned plow and salter equipment.
- Ensure proper storage and inventory management of deicing materials (salt and calcium).
- Ensure safety protocols are adhered to in all snow removal and deicing tasks.
- Stay alert for any weather changes or impending snowstorms and proactively manage resources and schedule for efficient snow removal.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior experience in snow removal, deicing, or site management is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and work as part of a team.
- Ability to operate snow plows, salters, and other related equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and work in harsh, cold conditions for extended hours.
- Ability to stay alert and focused during long shifts.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members and management.
- Flexibility to work on-call 24/7 during the winter season.
- Reliable and responsible with a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work long hours in cold, snowy, and icy conditions.
- Ability to lift heavy materials, such as bags of salt and calcium.
- Must be able to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods during snow removal activities.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
- Company-owned plow and salter equipment provided.
- Overtime and holiday pay as applicable.
