Fast paced legal consulting firm in Lodi, (Bergen County), New Jersey has an opening for an experienced (5-10 years) certified medical biller and coder to audit medical billing in personal injury cases for reasonableness (UCR).
This is a full time, exciting position. Must be able to work independently and efficiently, be meticulous in analysis of medical bills, be well-written and able to craft detailed reports/rebuttals regarding medical billing and/or coding issues, communicate professionally with attorneys, physicians, and insurance companies, work well in a team environment.
This job requires a high level of interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills. Experience with out of network billing is a requirement and facility billing (Inpatient/Outpatient hospital) as well as PIP and Workers Compensation billing is a plus. Please have a strong background in billing and coding guidelines. Must be certified or eligible as a biller/coder. Salary based on experience. Will only consider applicants that submit the following:

Duties include: Reviewing of all billing records Use of Microsoft Word and Excel to write reports Determining UCR rates using various fee schedules Writing rebuttals (appeals) Potential testimony in court about billing report findings Quality control
Qualifications: Knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing and medical coding Knowledge of third-party payment systems Knowledge of CPT, ICD, & HCPCS Codes Orthopedic experience Knowledge of facility billing Must have knowledge of UCR rates and how to apply them to medical codes Strong writing skills
