High end Japanese restaurant in North Caldwell, NJ is looking for a Sous Chef to join our team
Responsibilities:
Assist the Kitchen manager in overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring all dishes are prepared according to the restaurant's standards
Help coordinate and direct the kitchen team
Ensure that all ingredients and products meet quality and freshness standards, as well as the presentation and taste of the dishes
Participate in the creation and updating of the menu, including experimenting with new dishes and other culinaries techniques
Manage the kitchen inventory, ensuring there is always enough stock of ingredients and products
Performing other kitchen duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS
Must have 1 year experience in the kitchen
Strong understanding of culinary techniques and food safety standards
Expertise in menu plannig, development, and execution
Ability to create innovative and seasonal menus
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate the kitchen team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to interact with kitchen staff
Passion for culinary excellence, dedication to continuous improvement of the quality of the restaurant
