Job Description
The Kitchen Manager will oversee all aspects of a restaurant's kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient food preparation, high-quality food standards, and adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management:Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to proper food safety and hygiene protocols.
Food Preparation and Quality:Overseeing food preparation, cooking, and plating, maintaining consistent quality, and ensuring food is prepared and served according to established standards.
Inventory Management:Ordering ingredients and supplies, managing inventory levels, minimizing waste, and controlling food costs.
Food Safety and Sanitation:Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations, and ensuring proper food storage and handling procedures.
Operational Efficiency:Developing and implementing kitchen procedures, optimizing workflow, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the kitchen.
Cost Control:Managing food costs, labor costs, and other operational expenses to meet budgetary goals.
Menu Development and Pricing:Collaborating with owners or other managers to create and update menus, and participate in menu pricing discussions.
Equipment Maintenance:Ensuring kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning, and coordinating repairs or replacements as needed.
Compliance:Ensuring the kitchen complies with all relevant health, safety, and food handling regulations.
Essential Skills:
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Proficiency in inventory management and cost control.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Culinary experience and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions
Prior experience in a kitchen environment, particularly as a supervisor, is required.
Experience in staff management and training is also valuable
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
