Restaurant/Bar in need of a HEAD CHEF.
We’re looking for a passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen.
The restaurant is located in Newport, NJ.
This is a Full Time Salary Head Chef position.
Must have 5 years or more experience.
Responsibilities:
-Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation.
-Develop and update specials menu that aligns with current food trends and customer preferences.
-Manage, hire and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive, efficient, and safe work environment.
-Monitor food inventory, order supplies, and control costs to meet budget targets.
-Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
-Oversee portion control, waste reduction, and food storage best practices.
-Collaborate with management on pricing, menu specials, and promotions.
-Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs when needed.
-Stay current on industry trends, social media trends, dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free, allergen awareness), and sustainability practices.
-Uphold a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
-Handle scheduling and delegation to ensure smooth kitchen workflow during peak and off-peak hours.
-Support front-of-house staff with menu knowledge and assist with customer concerns related to food.
