Electrical Controls Engineer (FAIRFIELD)
Independent Machine Co. is looking for a Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team in Fairfield NJ.
Min 5 - 10 Years experience
BS or BA degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Requirements
Knowledge of electrical design standards, PLC & HMI logic, servo/AC/DC motors, electrical power distribution
Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
Familiarity with process controls, motor controls, instrumentation, automation principles, and industrial networking
Familiarity with Rockwell Allen Bradley Line of PLC’s and FactoryTalk View Studio HMI Panel Builder
programming required.
Familiarity with Lenze Motion Control for Variable Frequency Drives or equivalent required.
Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical design software
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Familiar with UL, NEMA and CE code
Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures utilized in machine control systems.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Deadline and detail oriented.
Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.
On site & Remote customer support/start-up
Ability to effectively prioritize duties and handle multiple projects concurrently to meet deadlines.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10 to 15% of the time; international customers will
require off-normal hour interface.
Principle Duties:
As the Electrical Controls Engineer, you would be responsible for all aspects of electrical, automation and control
systems the design, development, and production of electrical control equipment and PLC/HMI software and servo
programs in accordance with company and client guidelines for web processing machinery.
Provides electrical design, development, and programming based on existing PID algorithms.
Responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
Inspect, install, troubleshoot and debug machinery during manufacture and prior to shipment.
Perform internal acceptance testing prior to FAT and SAT testing.
Design and develop electrical panels including machinery controls.
Integrate components into the final design.
Estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors.
Generate electrical panel layouts, electrical schematics and BOM for specifications for components.
Supports purchasing and manufacturing in procurement and assembly of system.
Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards;
completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
Maintain and update electrical schematics, engineering drawings for production, and technical documentation for
new and existent equipment.
Works effectively in a Team based work environment or independently.
