Job Title: Production Buyer/PlannerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Planning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and Statements of Work (SOWs). You will be responsible for generating work orders and purchase orders, managing work order material flow, and resolving component shortages. The role requires close collaboration with various functional areas of the business and the management of ERP system integrity.Responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings, BOMs, and SOWs.

Generate work orders and purchase orders for required material or services primarily for Development and Qualification requirements.

Create requisitions and purchase orders in a timely manner.

Manage work order material flow from inception through completion.

Manage component shortages to resolution.

Work closely with all functional areas of the business.

Perform planning and production tasks, anticipate program needs, and expedite material and tool issue resolution when products are behind schedule or at risk of being behind schedule.

Own development and qualification orders from start to finish.

Interface with manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing, and management to provide timely status of work products and problem identification and resolution.

Maintain ERP system integrity to drive material and production schedules and execute processes per requirements.

Maintain ERP system parameters including material master data and performance criteria.

Negotiate with suppliers and collaborate with the shop team to understand capacity, including make/buy analyses and obtain the best pricing possible.

Support the transition of Development programs to Production.

Essential Skills

Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in planning, purchasing, engineering, or machine shop in a fast-paced mixed product manufacturing environment.

Working knowledge of MRP systems, planning, and scheduling activities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization and outside agents, including vendors, suppliers, and customers.

Strong computer literacy with expertise in MS Office and other applicable systems and programs.

Must be a US Citizen .

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Experience in production planning, ERP, buying, purchasing, MRP systems, and production scheduling.

Knowledge of MIL standards and electronics manufacturing.

Experience in product development, process, and manufacturing engineering.

Work EnvironmentWork for a fast-growing aerospace company at the forefront of technology. Enjoy a flexible work schedule with options to work four 10-hour days Monday to Thursday with every Friday off, or four 9-hour days Monday to Thursday and work 4 hours on Friday. The position is 100% on-site in Montville and includes time split between an office/desk setting and physically walking the manufacturing floor, including receiving, inspection, and shipping areas. The team consists of a handful of planners, a material coordinator, and close collaboration with the repair side of the organization and the engineering development team.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.42 - $45.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
