Job location can be NYC, Jersey City or Clinton, NJ. Some interoffice travel required between NYC and Jersey City. Responsibilities include:- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop and deliver enterprise quality applications.
- Conduct proofs-of-concept and develop prototypes.
- Act as key technical trusted advisor, understanding and contributing to the development of a product vision, solution feasibility and development of an architectural approach.
- Envisions new technical capabilities and common application components.
- Demonstrate an ability to constantly look for ongoing technological improvements.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft .NET or Java Technology Stack, WebApi, NodeJS
- Strong knowledge of Web Development using some of the following: Angular, React, Microsoft ASP.NET MVC 3.5/4.0, CSS, JQuery & AJAX.
- Knowledge of scripting tools on multiple platforms would be a plus
- Strong knowledge and extensive development experience with data tools (SQL, Python and so on), and database systems (MSSqlServer, Oracle, PostgreSQL or equivalent). Exposure to, or knowledge of modern big data tools will be a plus. Good working knowledge with Reporting.
- Good working knowledge with Team Foundation server, Git, JIRA.
- Extensive hands on development experience with Cloud development and Storage services will be a plus.
- Understanding of existing and emerging web standards such as HTML5 and Mobile
- Extensive experience in developing solutions using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) tenets.
- Extremely Passionate about Technology.
- Demonstrated ability to stay current with Application Architecture best practices, existing and emerging technology platforms, architectural and systems engineering industry trends.
- Desirable Business Skills:
- Basic understanding of securities industry, financial instruments (stocks, bonds, mortgages, derivatives instruments, real estate)
- Client Reporting using standard reporting tools such as Business Objects, Crystal reporting and close interaction with business users managing the monthly reporting.
- Willingness to be extremely flexible on the technology platforms used or projects assigned
- Strong ability to acquire new business and technology knowledge in a fast and timely manner and apply it to solve the problems at hand.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong people management skills to engage in projects of various sizes.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to be self-directed and work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- BS with 5+ years of technology experience in Engineering, Math or related domain
- MS preferred
- 5+ years of technology experience
- NoSQL implementation experience is desirable
- Development experience with Python, Powershell scripting.
- Cloud development experience is desirable.
- Ability to incorporate vendor components in the application build-out - Aspose, Kendo UI, Telerik.
- Ability to integrate APIs, write unit test cases, perform System Integration testing (SIT)
