Hybrid (on-site Tues, Wed, Thurs) The Retail Life Insurance Technology team is seeking an experienced Actuarial Programmer with a minimum of 5+ years of Whole Life or Universal Life product experience. The individual will be responsible for developing testing tools for the validation of product calculations from the administrative systems. This will involve knowledge of transactional processing in a real live administrative environment. The testing tools use EXCEL and EXCEL VBA development platform. The testing tool results, and the administration system results are validated using a batch compare process that allows for hands off automated validation. The individual may play a key role in functional projects, process or vendor management and is also responsible for training the QA team on proper usage of the calc tool and training any Junior Developers, Test Engineers, or new team members on coding and best practices in the development of the calculation tools Job Requirements Provide support for NYL Life Product portfolio relating to:
- Design/development of Life Product complex product simulations
- Design/ development of batch processing [life cycle] of Life Product calculation simulations
- Automation of end-to-end product life cycle calculations to achieve speed to market, efficiency, and accuracy
- Maintain and enhance existing calculation simulation tools
- Design / establish benchmark programs against the NYL Administrative Systems
- Support the Retail Life QA team, troubleshoot technical issues within prescribed productivity time frame
- Provides the QA Test Engineers and Solution Developers in the interpretation of expected results produced from the simulation tools and the Administrative Systems
- Participates in Life Product Design sessions and may provide recommendations and suggestions, on approach when applicable
- Minimum of 5+ years of Life insurance experience
- Strong knowledge of Whole Life and/or Universal life a plus
- Experience with Life Insurance Product Illustrations a plus
- Analytical and financial model skills a plus
- Strong execution and time management skills, ability to move multiple projects along under tight deadlines
- Experience with Advanced Excel and VBA required
- Experience with database and SQL servier a plus
- Programming skills a plus
- Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and/or Actuarial certification preferred but not required
