New York Life Insurance (NYL) is seeking a highly talented, driven Solution Engineer to join our dynamic, high-performing team focused on modernizing the core of our insurance technology ecosystem. The future-state vision includes a best-of-breed, cloud-based technology ecosystem incorporating core insurance platforms, sophisticated rules engines, predictive models, as well as machine learning and AI integrated with a consumer-facing digital experience layer. The First Phase of our modernization is underway and targeted at eliminating points of friction in the Purchase Experience. Fellow leaders in the Life Insurance industry are developing similar programs, while $2B a year is being invested in InsurTech startups to disrupt industry leaders, intensifying the urgency of rapid innovation for incumbents. We are looking for a solution engineer who possesses the right combination of technical savvy and drive to join the team with the vision, experience and commitment to transform the very core of an industry leading life insurer's technology ecosystem. The solution engineer works with business analysts, testers and partners to execute against programs within the modernization roadmap in a collaborative cross-functional, matrixed delivery model. This role requires a unique ability to dive deep to resolve complex technology challenges in the context of complex business processes and operational challenges. Functional Responsibilities: Develop and maintain software solutions primarily focusing on API and Identity integration. • Interact with business analysts and clients to understand problems being addressed by the project. • Review project requirements, assess, and estimate the necessary time-to-completion. • Work with peers to carry out code reviews and unit testing of new development. • Interact with other development teams to ensure a consistent approach to software development. • Closely follow software development best practices. • Communicate professionally and effectively to clients, management, and other departments Required Skills: • 7+ years of experience developing complex programs that span multiple IT & business functional domains • Strong written and oral communication skills • Strong analytic problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. • Strong knowledge of Web Service and API development using MuleSoft Integration Platform, Java and IBM WMB or similar technologies • Strong knowledge of supporting standards including XML, XSD, WSDL and RAML • Knowledge of Identity Standards (eg SAML and OAuth) • Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL • Experience with DevOps concepts that enable deployment of both Infrastructure and Application code • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Desired Qualifications: • High Tech, Life Insurance or Financial Services industry experience • Knowledge of Life Insurance Standards like ACORD • Experience with SAFE or other agile frameworks Travel Requirement: Less Than 10% Post Pandemic EOE M/F/D/V If you have difficulty using or interacting with any portions of this Web site due to incompatibility with an Assistive Technology, if you need the information in an alternative format, or if you have suggestions on how we can make this site more accessible, please contact us at Job Requisition ID: 82953Vacancy caducado!
