Position Summary Reporting to the SVP of Nursing and Clinical Operations, conducts focused educational/training needs assessments and training of clinical teams including but not limited to CMAs, PCMH coordinators and nurses as appropriate; designs, develops, delivers, and evaluates training materials in response to identified knowledge gaps, adoption of new materials, equipment and processes. Assesses clinical competencies and with the input of the clinical leadership team and assists in remediation and/or retraining as necessary. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Delivers group and individual instruction and training covering a range of clinical areas.

Develops training curricula and/or recommends or utilizes vendor programs that meet instructional goals and objectives.

With input of clinical and operational leadership, formulates training outlines and determines instructional methods, including but not limited to individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.

With input of clinical and operational leadership, selects or develops training aids, including training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.

With input of clinical, operational and human resource leadership, performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs.

Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.

Assists clinical and operational leadership in analyzing and assessing training and development needs for identified audiences.

Participates in centralized orientation for all newly hired CMAs, providing training on Zufall based policies and procedures and clinical skills and assessing competencies prior to new employees’ transition to assigned Zufall sites.

Participates in local on-site orientation and precepting on a rotating basis to assist local site team with new MA orientation process.

Remediates skills as needed, provides follow-up competency assessment.

Serves as a “super-user” for newly adopted products, instruments, equipment, procedures, receiving training and providing orientation on new procedures to team members including CMAs, PCMH, nurses and providers as appropriate.

Performs and documents annual competency assessments for Medical Assistants at all sites.

Performs role of PCMH coordinator at sites as assigned when needed in the event of a prolonged absence.

Performs role of an MA as assigned under specific circumstances as determined by clinical leadership

Attends special events as assigned based upon need.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of duties associated with that of a Certified Medical Assistant

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team of employees.

Ability to identify organizational and or process concerns and work within the organizational structure of Zufall Health Center to initiate focused and effective change as needed.

Flexibility to adjust activities to meet the changing needs of an evolving health care organization.

Teaching and facilitation skills.

Ability to determine training objectives.

Organizing and coordinating skills.

Ability to implement, and evaluate training plans, curricula, and methodology.

Skill in preparing instructional aids and plans.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work as part of a care team.

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Ability to communicate well with patients, staff and outside providers and agencies

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Learn and apply the trauma informed care principles with the scope of my position

Travel required between sites.

Education, Training, and Experience

Active CMA certification or RN license

Active EKG and Phlebotomy certifications for Certified Medical Assistants

Working knowledge of Zufall Health Center policies and procedures, mission, and values

Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and electronic medical records
