Job Description

In conjunction with the General Manager – Finance and the Express Parcels Management the National Commercial Manager (Revenue) will provide financial and operational reporting, in-depth commercial analysis and decision support in regards to the revenue related activity. This includes financial and scenario modelling, building business cases and proposals, performing profitability reviews, and preparing revenue and volume budgets and forecasts, tracking trading and pricing performance, leading yield improvement initiatives and tracking performance, and reviewing unit costs and related pricing decisions, KPI’s to assist management with key strategic and operational decisions. The role will also represent a key interface between the Sales function, account Management, Operations, Finance and Credit/GSS to facilitate appropriate solutions to customer billing processes, issues and accuracy.

Overall, the role will be responsible for ensuring that Express Parcels meets its strategic and financial obligations, actively drive the identification & development of effective reporting and operational processes in addition to providing value added insights on results that will support the stakeholders in achieving their performance goals and understanding of the businesses results.

Actively support the achievement of some of business objectives and various initiatives including:

  • Productivity improvement and optimisation
  • Better return on our assets, business case preparation and directing investment where it’s most needed
  • Cost savings and expenditure controls
  • Performance analytics and visibility

The role

  • Provide commercial insights and support to business decisions in the sales, pricing, costing and customer space
  • Actively contribute and drive the development of systems and processes which will improve operational excellence such as cost, productivity and service delivery, in conjunction with stakeholders
  • Ensuring billing accuracy – reviewing processes or systems associated with billing, measuring and tracking revenue reporting accuracy, facilitating the resolution of significant customer billing issues.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting of Revenue streams and volumes and tracking actual performance against budgets/forecasts
  • Commentary on financial performance and trading, providing insights, and making recommendations for improvement
  • Business partnering with EP Senior Leadership team, State General Managers and Operations leads and provide financial support to the EP business

Qualifications

  • Proven senior finance experience (8+ years) in a large, multinational organisation, preferably in transport/logistics or related sector (industrials/manufacturing, FMCG)
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and risk identification and mitigation
  • High level of commercial acumen and the ability to communicate and liaise persuasively with financial and non-financial stakeholders, verbally and through high quality presentations
  • Proven ability to lead teams including consultative decision making, delegation and effective communication, and performance management
  • Post graduate qualifications in commerce or equivalent
  • Membership of relevant professional body preferred (ACA/CPA or equivalent)
