Site development excavation company specializing in underground pipe work with over 40 years experience in the industry is currently seeking skilled individuals to help grow our team. Job locations vary but primarily Northeastern MA.
The Site Work Project Manager’s primary function is to ensure their Construction Projects are safe, successful and profitable within a timely manner for J.J. Phelan & Son Co., Inc. The Site Work Project Manager must have extensive experience in both Excavation and Site Development, as this role will oversee all aspects of the construction process. The ideal Construction Project Manager will bring a strong background of working hands-on with relevant heavy equipment, possess a strong ability to work with peers, as well as the ability to forecast and execute long-term planning. In doing so, the Site Work Project Manager will work closely with site Superintendents, Engineers, Architects, Sub-Contractors, as well as Municipalities for several different projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
-Planning all phases of the construction lifecycle from start to finish
-Communicating with Site Superintendents daily
-Handling all submittals and paperwork prior to construction
-Visiting job sites to monitor progress
-Making sure projects are executed according to plans and specifications
-Creating and tracking change orders, and managing time and materials spent on work outside of contract scope
-Closely monitoring total costs and man hours spent on project
-Preparing routine pay requisitions based on percentage complete and/or item quantities
-Attend and participate in client pre-bid, pre-construction, and progress meetings with Clients and project teams
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-Preferred 10+ years (minimum 5+ years) industry specific experience in Heavy Civil/Site Construction Project Management, including excavation, grading, utilities, etc.
-Previous hands-on experience with operating heavy equipment, and associated manual labor
-OSHA 10+ Certified
-Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering OR Construction Project Management
