Energy Auditor will work with our in-house Energy Auditors to inspect buildings to assess current energy use then make recommendations to optimize efficiency and minimize cost.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- OTJ training for visually inspecting buildings to determine air movement/changes, locate hot/cold spots
- Uses a variety of tools such as air velocity monitors or digital thermometers to collect field data related to energy use; analyzes the results.
- Performs appropriate and applicable tests to determine the extent of inefficiency.
- Establishes baselines for energy use and needs by quantifying energy consumption.
- Provides thorough education to end users regarding energy efficiency; fields and answers related questions.
- Identifies energy saving opportunities, calculating potential savings and prioritizing areas with the most return on investment.
- Composes and presents audit reports containing the results of the energy analysis and recommendations for improved energy efficiency.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- BPI Certification Required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact well with customers and coworkers.
- Good research and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to explain complicated matters to a variety of individuals.
- Understanding of buildings and building systems/envelope a plus.
$17 - $25 per hour DOE; full-time Mon-Friday schedule
