Kennedy Gallery and Custom Framing is seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art, strong communication skills, and an eye for design. This is a hands-on role involving both customer interaction and behind the scenes framing work.
Key Responsibilities:
-Greet and assist customers with a welcoming and knowledgable presence
-Guide customers through custom framing consultations and art sales
-Assist in art handling, hanging, and gallery presentation
-Help maintain a clean, organized and visually appealing space
-Process sales transactions and manage point-of-sales system
-Support the custom framing process, including measuring, cutting glass and assembly (training provided)
-Participate in gallery events and exhibitions as needed
-Social Media
-Ability to lift art/boxes up to 30 lbs
-Previous retail or gallery experience a plus!
-Willingness to learn custom framing techniques
-Comfortable working both independently as as part of a small team
Kennedy Gallery and Custom Framing is an independent shop that has been in the heart of Historic downtown Portsmouth for over 34 years. Our Gallery showcases a curated selection of local emerging and established artists alike while our frame shop offers expert custom framing services. We pride ourselves on craftsmanship, personalized customer service, and a deep appreciation for art and design.
The Gallery is open 7 days a week so one weekend day is a must. Flexible schedule and rotating shifts also available.
