Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to work on small farm production. This would be mostly non-commercial farming for use by Flag Hill catering events and for staff consumption. The person in this position will be expected to spend about 16 hours a week managing a small size farm that includes a small flock of laying hens, about 7 pigs, a high tunnel garden and traditional vegetable garden. You will be focused on growing a select number of products that are most valuable for our needs. If interested, we can offer an additional 24 hours of labor in our vineyard and winery/distillery production space, though not required for position. Person also gets to take from the harvest of the food for their own use.
Pay rate flexible depending on skill/experience.
Responsibilities
Assist in the daily care and feeding of animals, ensuring their health and safety.
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, including tractors and power tools.
Utilize hand tools for various farming tasks, including planting, harvesting, and irrigation.
Engage in heavy lifting activities related to feed, supplies, or harvested crops.

Assist with irrigation processes to maintain optimal crop growth conditions.
Skills
Should have some experience with livestock
Experience with hand tools and farm machinery operation is highly desirable.
Ability to adapt and solve minor issues that come up.
Capability to engage in heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by farm duties.
Understanding of irrigation systems and practices to support crop production.
Understanding of crop health and care.
