Adjunct Lecturer, Technology Management

Columbia University School of Professional Studies seeks industry professionals for the role of adjunct Lecturer to develop and teach various courses in the school’s M.S. in Technology Management program. The program provides technology professionals at all stages of their career - from recent graduates to more seasoned professionals - with the key strategic and tactical skills necessary to drive enhanced organizational performance and innovation through the use of technology and to become leaders in the field.The program’s curriculum can be found here. Candidates should indicate in a cover letter areas of subject matter expertise and which courses they would be interested in or qualified to teach. They should also indicate whether they are interested in teaching online (synchronously) or in-person.ResponsibilitiesLead in-person and/or online class lectures, instructional activities, and classroom discussionEvaluate student work and grade assignmentsMonitor student concerns and inquiries and be the first point of contact for student questionsHold weekly office hoursPrepare, maintain, and enhance the course in Canvas, Columbia University’s learning management system for onsite and online coursesPart‐time Lecturers who are new to SPS must complete Canvas training (online learning management system)Attend Technology Management faculty meetingsIf assigned to design a course:Design and develop graduate-level course materials that reflect current industry trends and academic rigorFor online courses, collaborate with an instructional designer through a structured 32-week design and development process to ensure high-quality, learner-centered contentServing as an adjunct Lecturer provides an outstanding opportunity to educate and mentor students in the field of technology management as well as to form a rewarding professional relationship with Columbia University’s world-class faculty.
