Rehab Patient Service Representative - PSR - Full time - Days

Summary Responsible for activities associated with administrative Rehabilitation Services operations. Provides excellent customer service to patients and family members both in person and over the telephone. Works as a team member across all Rehab Departments serving as liaison between the Patient, the Provider, the Payor and the Therapist(s). Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.

Responsible to Rehabilitative Services Manager and Office Coordinator.

Assures schedule utilization and other pertinent departmental benchmarks are consistently achieved, as appropriate.

Initiate and receive telephone contact with new and current patients.

Provides initial and ongoing scheduling of patients in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)

Completes pre-registration and registration of patients in EHR.

Verifies patient’s insurance benefits in EHR.

Manages multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating sound judgment, attention to detail and follow through.

Prioritizes duties and responsibilities, demonstrating strong organization and time management skills.

Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Maintains compliance with all relevant Federal, State regulations and Organizational policies.

Interacts in a positive, professional manner, contributing to a positive team environment.

Assures appropriate administrative sections of HER are maintained in an accurate manner and all requirements are completed.

Interacts with patients, visitors, and employees in a helpful and appropriate manner.

Other duties as consistent with this role.

Job Requirements

Job Knowledge and Skills

Ability to maintain and preserve confidentiality

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent human relationship, communication skills, maturity and poise

Microsoft Office experience

Medical terminology

Able to work independently within assigned guidelines and with minimal supervision

Education and Experience

Associates Degree preferred

Electronic Health Record experience preferred

An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
