STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a 2nd Shift Test Lab Technician to join the team. This position is responsible for testing experimental or prototype mechanical parts or structural products by conducting tests and recording results at various stages of the production process to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Performs and documents preventative maintenance
Examines parts for conformance with dimensional specifications.
Understands the necessity of instrument calibration and notifies supervisor when calibrations are due
Sets up equipment and conducts tests in accordance with established test procedures Coordinates and participates in installing unit or system to be tested in test fixtures, connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power source, and indicating instruments.
Measure and pour specified test media into the fixture and test samples. Test media are hydraulic fluids, hydrocarbon-based fuels, solvents, etc. which require mindfulness when pouring, transporting, measuring, handling, wiping, etc.
Activates controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and subject test item to successive steps in test cycle.
Accurately records test data results
Reject pieces that do not fall within accepted test procedures.
Confers with engineering personnel to resolve fabrication problems relating to specifications and to review test plans such as types and cycles of tests, conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and duration of tests
Consistently, regularly and dependably at work and on time
