Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityWe have an exciting opportunity for a Member Services Coordinator to join our team at Hiwa, the University’s new state-of-the-art Sport and Recreation Centre.This role is customer-focussed and all about engagement. You will lead initiatives to grow and retain our membership base, facilitate outstanding customer experiences, and build strong connections across the University and wider community.You will play a pivotal role in promoting Hiwa, representing us at large-scale events such as Manawa Mai (University Open Day), and leading networking and engagement activities. With a strong sales and marketing focus, you will create membership promotions, develop strategic partnerships, and confidently present to large audiences to enhance the Hiwa and Sport and Recreation brand.This is a fulltime (37.5 hours per week), permanent position.
The remuneration range for this role is $62,400 - $77,800, depending on skills and experience.

You’ll be proactive, highly organised, and comfortable presenting to large groups.Our ideal candidate will have:A qualification in fitness, sport, marketing, or management, or equivalent experienceCurrent First Aid CertificationExperience in a recreation or fitness facility, including customer service, member engagement, and event promotionStrong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with a team-focused mindsetKnowledge of recreation facility operations and experience managing a customer service portfolio (preferred)
