Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityAs an International Programmes Adviser, internally titled and referred to as a 360 International Advisor, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the 360 International programme, including programme administration, student advising, marketing, promotion, and liaison with overseas institutions. This role supports the University’s outbound learning abroad initiatives by engaging with prospective and current participants, providing advice, and overseeing the administrative processes related to exchange programmes and other international learning opportunities.Responsibilities may include managing the learning abroad portal, promoting and managing applications, nominations, pre-departure activities, and enrolment for exchange programmes. Additionally, you will process credit transfers upon students' return and support continuous improvements in administrative processes to enhance the overall student experience throughout the outbound exchange cycle.With your in-depth knowledge of partner institutions and exchange programme requirements, you will advise students on overseas learning opportunities and contribute to promoting these programmes. This role will play a key part in helping the University achieve its strategic goal of increasing student participation in learning abroad activities.Please note this fixed term vacancy has a large administrative component, so you must have excellent writing skills and the ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly to succeed in the role.This is a fulltime (37.5 hours per week) fixed term position from March - November 2025, with a salary range of $63,000 - $70,000 pro rata, depending on skills & experience.For more detailed information, please refer to the Position DescriptionMō tō mātou rōpū | About the teamWe are a collaborative small team, who are dedicated towards supporting underrepresented cohorts with opportunities to participate in our programmes.Situated within the International Partnerships & Programmes team within the International Office, the 360 International team is responsible for the delivery and management of the University’s core outbound exchange and study abroad activities and increasing awareness across campus of the opportunities for University of Auckland students to gain international experiences during their degree. The University seeks to provide all its students with an international experience, be this through collaborative online international learning or through an overseas learning opportunity. The University aims for at least one in four undergraduate students to have an overseas experience during their time at university through a combination of student exchange programmes, language study abroad, clinical placements, internships, and short-term overseas learning opportunities.He kōrero mōu | About youThe successful candidate will have personal experience studying, living, and/or working abroad as a young adult, as well as prior experience in a customer-facing and/or student experience role. The role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work confidently with various online platforms and systems to support the numerous administrative aspects of the University's learning abroad portfolio. We’re looking for an experienced or aspiring education abroad professional who demonstrates personal leadership and organisational skills. Work experience in an education setting, supporting outbound learning abroad and/or student development programmes, along with experience working with varied stakeholders such as with students, partner institutions, and faculty and university administration will be greatly valued. They will be a positive, confident individual who works well as part of a team.The right candidate will display the highest standards of customer service, be detail oriented, tech-savvy and have an understanding and appreciation of other cultures. You will be confident using the Microsoft Suite, including Excel where you will need to implement your knowledge beyond the basics (e.g. pivot tables).
