Nevada Copper (TSX:NCU) is a copper producer and owner of the Pumpkin Hollow copper project. Located in Nevada, USA, Pumpkin Hollow has substantial reserves and resources including copper, gold, and silver. Its two fully permitted projects include the high-grade underground mine and processing facility, which is now in the production stage, and a large-scale open pit project, which is advancing towards feasibility status. Purpose of the Position: The Environmental Technician position is to ensure compliance with sampling and monitoring requirements of various permits and programs. The person will also be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day record keeping and management of environmental data. This position will interface with mine and mill operations personnel on a regular basis. Accountability: The Environmental Technician reports directly to the Sr. Environmental Engineer. Responsibilities and Duties: (Performance of these functions is the reason the job exists. Assigned job tasks/duties are not limited to the essential functions).

Collect environmental data and samples necessary for environmental compliance reporting

Use a variety of instruments and equipment to gather data and conduct monitoring

Conduct inspections required by various compliance programs

Ensure accurate documentation of sample collection data

Manage analytical data within the available database

Assist with training for site personnel, as needed

Safely perform other duties as assigned

Health and Safety:

Ensure all safety procedures and regulatory guidelines are always followed

Participate in health and safety meetings as required

Conduct weekly safety interactions with personnel working onsite.

Knowledge/Education:

The Environmental Technician must be technically proficient with the following:

Certificate in science/engineering or degree in science or related field preferred

Previous experience in hydrology data collection, databases, field instrumentation and electronics preferred

Strong safety behaviors including familiarity with and adherence to all U.S. Mining Regulatory agencies including Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) standards required

Skills/Abilities:

The Environmental Technician must demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

Ability to develop and maintain positive relations with others required

Strong computer skills including experience with PowerPoint, Word & Excel required

Ability and willingness to work outdoors throughout the year, with little supervision required

Ability to handle vehicles and navigate dirt roads making decisions to prevent property damage and safety events required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with various levels of employees required

Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously required

Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines required

Lift and potentially carry up to 50-75 lbs.

Operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license

Sit for extended periods of time

Stay alert during periods of inactivity

The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.

The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hand, and wrists.

Work Schedule and Personal Protective Equipment:

The incumbent is expected to work a 40 hour/week schedule, primarily from Monday through Friday. Personal Protective Equipment required for the field work portion of this position includes, but is not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots. All equipment must be MSHA approved as applicable.
