Incumbents in this position perform merchandising and stock control duties to maximize profits in retail store environment which included canteen stores throughout the statewide institutional facilities. This position oversees the Access Secure Package Program and/or the SCORE 5 Program at the facility assigned. Incumbents order inventory and oversee stock control and merchandising in a retail operation involving high volume turnover of a limited variety of merchandise which may include food, soft drinks, personal hygiene items, and small electrical appliances. Incumbents receive and inspect merchandise to ensure there is no damage, quantity received and input inmate order per established procedures; print receipts/lists of authorized purchases; remove items form stock and package inmate orders; distribute inmate orders through a secure window or deliver merchandise to lockdown units; verify inmate's identity; check each item against quantity; obtain inmate's signature to verify acceptance of merchandise; ensure items are within security level restrictions; enforce storeroom and computer security according to established policy and procedures; clean and maintain stockroom and equipment per established health and safety standards. This position works under the direction of the Retail Storekeeper III. Position requires the supervising of inmate workers as well as Retail Storekeepers 1's during the absence of the Retail Storekeeper III. Hours of operation are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday; hours are subject to change depending on the need of the agency. This position is located at Ely Stat Prison (ESP); Ely, Nevada.
