Posted 08/12/2024 Close Date: 09/11/2024 Recruiter: ANA MARIA ORNELLAS Phone: (775)684-0151 Email: aornellas@admin.nv.gov Applications accepted for another 29 Days 22 Hrs 17 Mins The PositionPsychiatric Nurses provide professional nursing care to individuals with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, in an institution or out-patient setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.This position supports the Department of Public Behavioral Health, Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) and is located at the Outpatient Medication Clinic in Sparks, Nevada. The focus of this position will be Utilization Review, monitoring Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASSR), and covering the Nurse Care Line. Additional work responsibilities include assessing and identifying patient health care needs; making comprehensive clinical observations and evaluations; preparing nursing care plans; administering medications as prescribed by a physician or designee, including injections; and monitoring patients for medication side effects and/or allergic reaction, and processing prior authorization requests. Responsibilities may also include monitoring and documenting medical equipment, including the medication refrigerator, providing crisis intervention, and helping to develop safety plan recommendations for patients, actively participating on a multidisciplinary team, managing a wide variety of patients and diagnoses, and ensuring compliance with CMS standards, established laws, regulations, and NNAMHS policies.
