Our Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the company’s fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are safe, compliant with regulations, and performing at their optimal levels. This includes vehicle acquisition, maintenance scheduling, fleet optimization, and managing a team of drivers and maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the fleet.

Ensure fleet vehicles are maintained and serviced according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and legal regulations.

Monitor fleet performance, including fuel consumption, driver performance, and vehicle maintenance.

Monitor vehicle fuel costs, repairs, maintenance, and other expenses to ensure budget adherence.

Ensure fleet compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including inspections, licensing, and permitting.

Implement and enforce safety policies and practices to minimize accidents and maintain driver safety.

Conduct regular driver training programs on safety, compliance, and vehicle operation.

Reporting & Documentation:

Prepare and present regular reports on fleet performance, costs, and overall fleet health to senior management.

Maintain accurate records of vehicle service histories, warranties, repairs, and inspections.

Team Leadership:

Supervise, hire, and train fleet staff (drivers, mechanics, coordinators).

Ensure proper staffing levels to meet operational demands and foster a productive and safe work environment.

Requirements to be successful in this role:

Know your way around a vehicle (and under the hood would be a bonus).

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Self-starter with an extreme attention to detail, meticulous, and organized.

Typically works in an office setting, but regular visits to fleet maintenance facilities, depots, and vehicles on-site are required.

As mentioned, a clean driving is required as you will jump in as a chauffeur at times as well!
