SWPPP Inspector

We are seeking a qualified and motivated SWPPP Inspector to join our team and play a crucial role in safeguarding the environment. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with their Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and relevant environmental regulations. Your primary focus will be on preventing pollutants from entering stormwater runoff and minimizing the impact of construction activities on local waterways.

Responsibilities:

Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to assess compliance with approved SWPPPs and identify potential areas of non-compliance.

Review SWPPP documentation, including maps, drawings, and maintenance logs, to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented Best Management Practices (BMPs), such as sediment traps, erosion control measures, and spill prevention practices.

Collect and document observations, including photographs and detailed notes, during inspections.

Prepare comprehensive inspection reports outlining findings, recommendations for corrective actions, and follow-up timelines.

Communicate effectively with construction site owners, operators, and contractors regarding identified issues and necessary corrective actions.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local stormwater regulations and permit requirements.

Attend relevant training workshops and seminars to stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, construction management, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in construction site inspections or environmental compliance.

Strong understanding of SWPPPs, BMPs, and stormwater regulations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.

Proficient in written and verbal communication, with the ability to prepare clear and concise inspection reports.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle (may be required).
