Position: Tahoe Family Solutions Assistant Thrift Store Manager
Reports to: TFS Thrift Store Manager
FLSA Status: Part-time (24-32 hours per week), hourly
Salary: $21.00 to $24.00 hourly (Depending on Experience)

SUMMARY:
The Tahoe Family Solutions Assistant Store Manager will act as the front-line representative to customers, donors, board members, volunteers and visitors that come into the Tahoe Family Solutions Thrift Store. In addition, the Assistant Store Manager is responsible for making sure that the daily operations of the store run smoothly by supporting staff on the sales floor and handling administrative duties. Their duties include but are not limited to: inspecting and pricing donations, resolving customer complaints and training new team members. They are responsible for ensuring a safe, organized, and tidy retail space, monitoring supply needs and areas of concern and alerting the manager to such issues. Our ideal candidate is passionate about the TFS mission, has excellent interpersonal and problem-solving, and supervisory skills.
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 2 years of experience in a retail role required
High School diploma or GED required
Proficient computer skills, multitasking abilities, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational, oral and written skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Reliable and able to consistently show up to work on time
Ability to remain calm and professional under stress
Comfort functioning as our front-line representative and maintaining a positive environment for our staff and customers
Successful completion of State of Nevada and FBI background checks
Some weekend hours are required
Spanish language skills are preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supporting the store manager in the daily business operations of the TFS Thrift Store and carrying out directives given by the manager and Executive Director
Assuring the upkeep and appearance of the Thrift Store throughout the day
Oversight of welcoming, training, and supervision of volunteers.
Inspecting donations and assisting with pricing and tagging.
Training and supervising employees. Will inform the manager of ongoing issues and concerns regarding staff.
Inspiring and encouraging employees to ensure a high level of morale.
Responsible for accurate accounting of petty cash and tracking and delivery of daily deposits to the office in the absence of the manager.
Responsible for securing change for the cash register if necessary.
Communicating with and helping customers and resolving customer complaints
Monitoring operational supplies and alerting the store manager to needs (i.e. shopping bags, tags, hangers, sharpies, rubber bands, batteries etc.)
Tasked with using discretion with regards to customer requests (re: discounts, donation drop-offs, early closures due to weather or staffing issues when manager is unavailable.)
Retrieving and responding to phone messages and e-mail, in a quick and timely fashion, referring them as necessary.
Assisting with coordination of furniture donation pick-ups, including paying delivery contractors as necessary out of petty cash.
Assisting with inventory displays, including front windows displays.
Sharing ideas regarding sales boosting opportunities (sales, events, etc.)
Assuring store is closed, cash is safely in the locked safe, lights and heat off, trash out and alarm set at closing.
Demonstrating proficiency in all TFS services and programs. Provide education, resources and referrals to relevant services and inform about TFS programs and opportunities.
Able to work some evening and weekend hours.
Comply with OSHA guidelines, particularly with regards to lifting
Regularly attend, participate in, and support training and staff meetings
Assigned job tasks and duties are not limited to the Duties and Responsibilities noted above.
